Langtang Valley

 


A winding up and down road north of Kathmandu valley goes through paddy rice fields to green forest and ends up at the small town of Syabrubensi on the bank of Trishuli (bhotekoshi) river from where the trek heads towards east into the beautiful Langtang valley. Unlike Everest and Annapurna, here you find more greenery and have more chance to see wildlife. The trail follows Langtang river upto the Kyanzin gompa the last village at the elevation of 3800mtr.From Kyanzin one can take several day hike to the peaks of Tsergo Ri, Kyanzin Ri and Yala Peak. The trek returns pretty much same way back down but it can be combined with a trek to the Gosainkunda area, Ganjala Pass or Tilman Pass.
