Nangpala Lower Section

Thame  Valley and Nangpa la Pass

Nangpa la Pass connects Nepal's Khumbu or Everest Region with the Tingri area of Tibet.  This is one of the few high altitude routes in the entire Himalaya that has connected people of the south and north for centuries and is still in use.  It is believed that Nangpa la is the route used by the Sherpas to immigrate from Tibet in the 15th Century.  The trail is high in altitude and crosses Himalayan glaciers, so the trek is challenging.  We have the opportunity of exploring some of the least visited valleys, villages and seasonal pastures of Sherpas and Tibetan traders
