Langtang Valley to Panchpokhari via Tillman's Pass
Tillman's Pass (5320mtr) was named after pioneer British adventurer H. W. Tillman who explored the Himalaya in the mid 20th century. It is a difficult trek which involves some basic snow climbing and traversing one of the highest passes in the Himalaya. We cover the same ground as the popular Langtang valley trek, but then we move through an extremely remote area with no human habitation for several days on our way to the glaciated area behind the peaks of Urkinmang and Dorje Lakpa of the Jugal Himalayan Range. After the pass, the trail drops down to the eastern side of the Jugal Range, hometo five lakes (Panch Pokhari) which is a popular pilgrimage site for local people from the green valleys of Sindhu palchok area in central Nepal. This trek blends the experience of an adventurous walk over an icy col with meeting the Tamang people of central Nepal.
