Langtang Valley Trekking
For a Trekking trip in Langtang area a winding up and down
road north of Kathmandu valley goes through paddy rice fields to green forest
and ends up at the small town of Syabrubensi on the bank of Trishuli
(bhotekoshi) river from where the trek heads towards east into the beautiful
Langtang valley. Unlike Everest and Annapurna, here you find more greenery and
have more chance to see wildlife and nature. The trail follows Langtang river
up to the Kyanzin gompa (Kyanzin Monastery) the last village at the elevation
of 3800mtr. From Kyanzin you can take
several day hike to the peaks of Tsergo Ri (5026m), Kyanzin Ri (5100m) and Yala
Peak (5722 m) all offer exhilarating views. In fact Yala Peak is a small
climbing peak suitable for novice climbers. The trek returns pretty much same way back
down but it can be combined with a trek to the Gosainkunda area, Ganjala Pass
or Tilman Pass.
